Adding Carport to Front of Garage: Complete Guide for Homeowners

A two-car garage holds two cars, a workbench, and the lawn tractor — until it doesn’t. When the third vehicle arrives or the kids start driving, the easiest expansion isn’t pushing back the existing garage. It’s extending forward with an attached carport that uses the existing garage roof as one of its support points. Permit Requirements You Cannot Skip
