RP47201 is longer and clearly labeled 17T on the body. If the house was built after 2006 and has a Delta single-handle shower, odds are heavy it’s an RP19804.
Trim Compatibility and Popular Collections

Installation: Getting the Rough-In Right
Set the valve so the face of the plaster guard sits flush with the finished wall surface — that plastic guard is your depth gauge, and it accommodates wall thickness from about 1-7/8″ to 3-1/8″ from the stringer. Miss deep and the trim sleeve won’t reach; miss shallow and the escutcheon won’t seat.
- Mount a 2×6 stringer between studs at 45–48″ off the finished floor for a shower-only valve, 28″ for a tub/shower.
- Orient “UP” cast into the body upward. Hot supply on the left, cold on the right, looking at the valve face.
- If sweating copper on the -UNBX, remove the cartridge and stops first — 20 seconds of torch heat will cook the seals otherwise.
