Engineered blocks trade some of that refinishing depth for far better dimensional stability.

For most modern homes, especially those with radiant heat, concrete subfloors, or noticeable seasonal humidity swings, engineered parquet is the lower-risk option. It installs over more conditions and is less likely to cup or gap. If you are restoring a period property and want a floor that can be sanded for a century, solid blocks may still earn their place. Cost and Budgeting

Engineered parquetry is a premium product, and the patterned layout adds labor on top of material.
