Prime only what you can topcoat within the recoat window (typically 12-24 hours). If you exceed it, you’ll need to lightly abrade the primer for the next coat to bond. Vacuum any dust nibs before recoating.
Step 6: Mix the Epoxy Correctly
Epoxy is unforgiving about mix ratios. Two-part systems come with a specific resin-to-hardener ratio, often 2:1 or 3:1 by volume, printed on the cans. Measure precisely; eyeballing it leaves you with soft spots that never cure or a pot that kicks off too fast.
