  4. Cut the faucet free. Final stage: split the nut with a hacksaw blade in a holder, an oscillating multi-tool with a metal blade, or a Dremel and cutoff wheel. Cut at an angle across one flat of the nut until it relaxes, then chisel it around. Protect the sink underside with a scrap of cardboard. The faucet is trash anyway — the sink is what you are protecting.
