In a correctional facility, the floor is not just a surface to walk on — it is part of the security envelope. Correctional floors balance slip resistance against cleanability — too smooth and they become hazardous when wet, too aggressive and they trap grime. Maintenance is also simpler and cheaper with seamless systems — daily mopping and periodic resealing keep them serviceable for years, with no grout to regrout and no tiles to replace. Factoring in reduced downtime, lower replacement frequency, and easier sanitation usually makes the durable option the more economical one.
