Waterproof Construction

Every COREtec product is 100 percent waterproof. The core, wear layer, and print layer contain no organic materials that can absorb water. Standing water on the surface will not damage the floor — though water that gets beneath the flooring through gaps or edges should still be addressed.

Dimensional Stability

One of COREtec’s biggest advantages over flexible LVP is its stability across temperature changes. The rigid core resists expansion and contraction, allowing installation in rooms with large temperature swings (sunrooms, enclosed porches) that would cause flexible vinyl to buckle or gap. COREtec recommends installation in environments between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit but handles temporary excursions beyond that range.

Dent and Indent Resistance

The rigid core distributes weight from furniture legs and high heels across a wider area than flexible vinyl, reducing the risk of permanent dents. Heavy furniture should still use protective pads, but COREtec handles point loads better than traditional LVP.
