Why Most DIY Epoxy Kits Fail

The DIY product peels within 18 to 36 months because hot tires lift it off the slab and oil penetrates through the thin film.
Slab prep is the other failure point. DIY kits skip the diamond grinding step that creates proper mechanical bond. Downtime matters. Pro epoxy systems require the garage cleared completely, the slab ground and shot-blasted, and 24 to 72 hours of cure time before you can park on the floor again. Coordinating that around a normal household with daily car use takes scheduling discipline. Plan a week minimum start to finish.
Polyaspartic vs Epoxy: Which Holds Up Better
Polyaspartic and polyurea coatings outperform epoxy in three ways: faster cure time, better UV resistance, and tighter adhesion. The tradeoff is cost.
