The first clue tells you almost everything. Flip the switch and listen carefully.

Put It Back Together and Test
After clearing a jam, press the reset button (freeing the jam often trips it), restore power, and run cold water. Flip the switch — the motor should spin up cleanly. Let it run a few seconds with water flowing to confirm it grinds normally. If it spins but sounds rough, there may still be a small shard inside; cut power and check again.
